Jolie Holland

I know I said I'd do three posts yesterday, but yeah, I lied. I was busy and stuff. But I have an early dismissal from school today! So maybe I'll be able to make up for it today.

When I first heard Jolie's Holland's song "Old Fashion Morphine", I just assumed she was some old folk country singer. Like I was really shocked when I discovered that she's a contemporary artist. But also very happy.

I was in Spanish Level 3 last year (yes, I know, very impressive) and although I chose Latin over Spanish this year simply because Latin is a million time superior to Spanish, some vestiges of my years studying Spanish remain. I'm pretty sure that the title of the album I uploaded by Jolie Holland, "Escondida", means "hidden". At least I think so.

Anyways, I don't have much time to go into detail because I have a report to due. From now on, I'm gonna update in school I think. I'm busy Wednesdays though. Don't worry, next week I have CAPT's so I should be able to post a ton. And hopefully my sister will start doing some posts.

This folk/alt-country album contains 12 tracks, all fairly strong, and lasts 48 minutes. HIGHLY recommended for fans of Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, and folk music in general. I love her(passionately).

Check it out.

You can buy Escondida here.

Be back later with some more hopefully. I have to do an Algebra 2 project so we'll see if time permits.
