Belle and Sebastian - Be Merry

The lost Belle and Sebastian album!!! It's a but different from their previous work, which is the reason I think why they didn't release it, but I liked the direction they were headed here. Possibly their masterpiece.

I'm tired of summer. I'll be back sometime in the next few days with another post hopefully.

you have got to be joking

is this really B&S?

That was some good shit. It sounded kinda like they redid sinister with the production techniques of life pursuit. where did you find this?

My heart has been broken. Thanks for nothing! haha

Hahah sorry evan and spencer. I was in the mood for a practical joke and I couldn't resist.

Wait, before I download, is this for real, or just some practical joke?

By the way, I've been meaning to ask you if your feelings about The Life Pursuit have changed. My reaction was similar to yours, but now it's really grown on me. I like it better than Dear Catastrophe Waitress, actually, and that album was great, IMO.

Don't download the album, I was just joking.

The Life Pursuit has grown on me too and will probably continue to do so. I personally love DCW too and I still prefer it to The Life Pursuit for now. I still have no idea what they were trying to do on "Song for Sunshine." But the rest of the album is pretty consistent, especially the first half.

Actually, I like "Song for Sunshine" (it's comparable to some of the more hippy-ish things they did on DCW), it's "For The Price Of A Cup Of Tea" that I can't stand. I can't shake the feeling that it should be rolling over the credits to a kids’ film, or something. But I agree, the first half of the album is definitely superior to the second. With the bonus tracks available on iTunes, though, there are some pretty great songs (LOVE “Meat and Potatoes”).

So who or what was that noise anyway? It's almost as "good" as Metal Machine Music (and/or Merzbow).

A band called Prurient. My brother's into them, and I guess they're pretty good if you're into that whole noise rock scene. I prefer Wolf Eyes though.
